I'm 37 weeks today exactly and just had an appt today. I was 2cm last week and now 4cm 60% effaced. The unknown is killing me! Trying to see when to expect baby girls arrival! Bottom line--being 4cm, 80% effaced unfortunately doesn't mean that labor is going to happen at any moment. It could--but you could also hang out like that for several more days/weeks.
