They don't stack currently, and players who have an excess of them are having storage issues. There are no plans to allow the other items mentioned in the post (Rift Stones, Trial Stones ...Just make sure you are doing it from your characters inventory, make sure your stash is closed. Then right click the gift, and then click on your level 70, unsocketed weapon. As Jay points out, make sure your stash is closed. If your stash is open when you r-click the gift it just puts it back into your stash.
