Apr 27, 2016 · Transcendental Étude No. 10 in F minor, "Appassionata", is the tenth Transcendental Étude of a set of twelve by Franz Liszt. It is possibly the most played of the études and has a prominent melody. Passage work for the left hand is rather difficult, while the right hand plays the melody mostly in octaves. The Transcendental Études are a collection of 12 piano pieces by the Hungarian composer Franz Liszt.Together with the Piano Sonata in B minor, they are considered part of the major works by Liszt and, in general, they are unanimously recognised as some of the most difficult works ever written for this instrument. His recording of the twelfth Transcendental Études by Franz Liszt was later part of the evidence in the plagiarism scandal involving recordings by the English pianist Joyce Hatto (1928-2006), and became more famous as a result of the investigation. László Simon was a respected piano teacher throughout the world.
